The only men’s college soccer programs in the Sunshine State that were ranked in the Sept. 10 United Soccer Coaches Division I poll will square off on Wednesday evening in Fort Myers.

No. 18 UCF (3-1-1) will travel to No. 14 Florida Gulf Coast for the eighth time. UCF won the 2018 contest 5-1; but, Florida Gulf Coast is a much improved team this year.

The Eagles, despite a 2-0 night loss to UC Riverside on Sept. 13, have already produced results against a pair of Top 20 programs this season. Florida Gulf Coast kicked off its season with a 4-3 road win over then-No. 13 Michigan and a 1-1 draw with then-No. 7 Michigan State.

Florida Gulf Coast has used a handful of different faces to put the ball in the back of the net. Entering Sunday’s contest against No. 23 Cal State Fullerton, eight different players have scored this season. Senior midfielder Ryan Medilah leads the way with three goals.

UCF has not spread the wealth out as judiciously as Florida Gulf Coast. Senior forward Cal Jennings has scored five of the Knights’ 10 goals. Jennings scored the opening goal in the 15th minute of Friday’s win over VCU. He killed off the game by assisting Jeremy Di Lallo’s 90th minute goal.
