Miami Coral Reef retains No. 1 spot in statewide ranking

The Florida High School Athletic Association instituted a new playoff format this season with the aim of fielding a more competitive postseason and state tournament.

As high school soccer approaches the business end of the season, Official Florida FC will provide a rundown of the top varsity programs in the state.

Miami Coral Reef remains the No. 1 team in the state for now. However, the Barracudas’ 1-0 loss to South Dade on Jan. 7 was not included in the latest edition of the FHSAA rankings, which were released on Wednesday, Jan. 8.
