Gregg Berhalter, with his 3-0-1 record as manager of the U.S. men’s national team has won more games as a manager than the first 18 men who held the position.

The 45-year-old New Jersey native will be on the hunt for more wins, and his first trophy, this summer in the Concacaf Gold Cup.

Berhalter labeled the Americans’ group that includes Guyana (June 18, St. Paul), Trinidad & Tobago (June 22, Cleveland) and Panama (June 26, Kansas City, Kansas) as a challenging one.

“I think we have a great and challenging group,” Berhalter told ussoccer.com. “When you prepare yourself to get through a difficult group like this, it sets you up for good things to come. We’re excited to get into camp at the end of May, then develop the team and be able compete in the Gold Cup, which is a fantastic tournament.”
