Orlando City (9-14-10, 37 points) was eliminated from postseason consideration following Saturday’s 1-1 draw to FC Cincinnati (6-22-5, 23 points). The Lions needed a stoppage time goal from Benji Michel to equalize with a team who set the MLS record for most goals conceded in a season.

New England’s 2-0 win over NYCFC meant the Revolution (11-10-12, 45 points) claimed the final berth in the Eastern Conference playoff chase.

New England’s win made Orlando City’s result at Nippert Stadium immaterial. However, the Lions limped to the finish line against an expansion side that was long ago eliminated from the postseason.
