Defending national champion Florida State defeated a pair of ranked opponents, but remained at No. 5 in the United Soccer Coaches poll that was released on Nov. 6.

The Seminoles (15-4) defeated then-No. 9 Duke 1-0 on Halloween night behind a 79th minute goal from Deyna Castellanos. The Seminoles defeated then-No. 22 Clemson 2-1 in an Atlantic Coast Conference tournament semifinal on Nov. 3.

While the Seminoles have concluded their regular season and played a game in the conference tournament, the state’s two men’s soccer programs that are ranked are winding down their regular seasons.

Central Florida (12-1-2) remained at No. 6 after extending its winning streak to five straight matches. Later Tuesday, the Knights beat Cincinnati 3-2 in overtime to run its winning streak to six.

Gino Vivi scored his fifth goal of the season, and third game-winning goal, in the 99th minute allowed UCF to win the regular season American Athletic Conference title.

Florida International dropped six places to No. 19 after losing its first match of the season, 1-0 at South Carolina on Nov. 1.

The Panthers (9-1-5, 4-1-1) will host No. 14 Marshall (12-2-3, 4-1-1) on Nov. 8. The winner of that contest would win the Conference-USA regular season title. Were FIU and Marshall to draw, No. 17 Charlotte (10-2-4, 4-0-3) would win the regular season title.
